Tailoring

Our ready-to-wear tailoring is made in Italy with a full canvas construction and handsewn collar, armholes and buttonholes. The shoulders are shaped by a lightweight canvas rather than padding, so the jacket is easy and comfortable to wear.

We cut our jackets in our house style: a full chest, slightly extended shoulders, open quarters and a generous lapel with a low gorge. The front and the side are cut from one piece of cloth, rather than joined by a seam. The dart that shapes the jacket is slanted and hidden under the arm, so no dart is visible at the front. That keeps the front uninterrupted and a stripe or check unbroken.

We are particular about cloth: merino twill from Yorkshire, linen from Ireland, silk from Como, and flannel and hopsack from Italy. We offer several tweed sport coats, sourced from Scotland, England and Ireland. Most of these cloths are also available made to measure: the same cloth, the same make, cut to your measurements with the details chosen by you.
