Navy Hopsack Sport Coat

The navy hopsack sport coat is a cornerstone of a well-rounded wardrobe, pairing with almost any colour of trousers and moving easily between casual and smart settings. Hopsack's basket weave gives it two qualities that make it useful across seasons: breathability from the open structure of the weave and resilience that lets it hold its shape through regular wear.

Ours is woven in Italy from a Super 130s merino wool at 250-270 grams per metre, giving it a lighter hand than the coat's structure might suggest. The weave has a subtle texture in a deep, versatile shade of navy, enough to distinguish it from the finer cloths used in suiting.

Made in Italy with a full canvas construction and hand-sewing at the collar, armholes and buttonholes. Patch pockets keep it casual enough for relaxed wear while still working in more considered settings.

Pair it with grey flannel trousers in cooler months or cream chinos in summer. For a more formal look wear it with tailored trousers and a tie; dressed down, jeans and a skipper polo work equally well.
