Dark Green Merino Wool Sport Coat

This dark green sport coat has the look of a tweed and the softness of merino. The surface is napped and full of texture, and the green is mixed from several shades of yarn, so up close you see flecks of rust and ochre running through it.

The cloth is a merino wool twill, woven in Yorkshire. Merino is a fine fibre, so the cloth feels soft to the touch, and the raised surface holds warmth. The twill is pronounced enough that its diagonal line shows through the nap. At 375 grams it is a cloth for autumn and winter.

Our tailoring is made in Italy with a full canvas construction and hand-sewing at the collar, armholes and buttonholes. The jacket is half lined with a soft shoulder, and patch pockets keep it relaxed.

Dark green sits well next to grey and brown. Wear it with mid grey or charcoal flannel trousers, or with dark brown corduroy, over a light blue oxford cloth button-down shirt. A navy roll neck and jeans work when it turns cold.
