Thomas Mason Dark Blue Pencil Stripe Poplin 120s
This made-to-measure shirt is cut from Thomas Mason's dark blue pencil stripe Portland cloth, a superfine 120/2 poplin. The yarn is dyed before weaving, giving the stripe its depth and clarity. A 120s two-ply yarn gives a smooth, crisp handle without feeling thin, and it holds up well with regular wear.
Each shirt is cut by hand to your measurements and made with either three handmade operations (armholes, buttons and gusset) or six, adding a hand-set collar, hand-worked buttonholes and bartacks, finished with thick Australian mother-of-pearl buttons.
This is a pencil stripe in name, but the stripe itself is bold, a clear dark blue line on a white ground rather than a fine texture.
