Oatmeal Linen Safari Jacket

This oatmeal safari jacket is made in Italy from Irish linen. The yarn is dyed before weaving, which gives the oatmeal a rich colour with some variation through the cloth. It is woven as a twill, where linen is more often a plain weave, so it has a diagonal structure and more drape. At 320 grams it is light enough for summer.
We designed this safari jacket to sit between a sport coat and a shirt jacket. The lapels are cut to roll, and we put the buttoning point at the waist as you would on a tailored jacket, which gives it more shape than a field jacket.
It is unlined, which makes it cooler to wear. The chest pockets have inverted pleats under flaps, the lower pockets are bellows, and the buttons are horn. An adjustable waistband at the back draws the jacket in through the waist.
