Doek Ecru Canvas Tennis Sneakers
The Doek Oxford Tennis Sneakers in Ecru are as close as you’ll find to the original tennis sneakers of the 1930s and ‘40s. They remind us of the white canvas shoes drawn by Laurence Fellows in his Esquire illustrations—worn on the court by players like Bill Tilden, the first American to win Wimbledon.
Made in Japan, these shoes use undyed ecru canvas, woven on traditional power looms. The cork insole adds comfort and breathability, while the vulcanised rubber sole is durable and flexible. The design is simple, functional, and durable—free from logos or unnecessary details.
They work well with almost anything: chinos, classic trousers, or denim. Over time, the canvas will soften, the cork will mould to your feet, and the shoes will take on their own character.
