Dark Blue Small Floral Ancient Madder Tie

Our Ancient Madder silk is produced in Macclesfield by one of England’s leading textile printers through the artisan craft of screen printing.

The process requires multiple screens—often six to eight—to layer the designs precisely. The unique “chalky hand” and muted tones come from printing on gum twill silk. This fabric undergoes a special process involving boiling to remove natural gum, dyeing, and a bath in a gum-based solution, which creates its powdery feel and distinctive look.

The designs, ranging from classic paisleys to geometric and floral patterns, add a timeless, almost vintage charm to the ties.
