Air Force Blue Cotton Knee High Socks

A pair of air force blue knee high socks knitted in Italy from Filoscozia cotton, an extra-long staple cotton grown mainly in Egypt and picked by hand. The yarn is twisted in two plies, passed through a flame to burn away the surface hairs, then mercerised, which leaves it smooth, quietly lustrous and slow to lose its colour in the wash. It is knitted on a 240-needle machine, so the knit is fine and close. The toe seam is hand-linked, so it lies flat under the toes, and the toe and heel are reinforced.
